Each fall, The Summer Camp Fund initiates the application process for funding children for camp the following summer. Funding is awarded in the form of scholarships to camps that competitively meet programming criteria in alignment with our mission with particular emphasis on the outdoors and environmental experiences, literacy, and swimming and water safety instruction. Camps must also have been in business for at least one year and have a strong process in place for recruiting low-income campers.
The children receiving scholarships must come from counties in WBTV's viewership area: North Carolina: Alexander, Anson, Ashe, Avery, Burke, Cabarrus, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Richmond, Rowan, Stanly, Union and Watauga. South Carolina: Chester, Chesterfield, Lancaster and York.
If you are a camp that meets these criteria, wish to be included in our next grant cycle and are not already on our mailing list, please e-mail us via our 'Contact Us' page and ask to be added.
